The Spite House

Eric Ross and his two daughters are on the run, living out of motels as they try to escape their secrets. Eric comes across an ad for a caretaker for the Masson House, which is known to the locals as The Spite House because Peter Masson built it just to spite those around him. All he needs to do is keep a record of everything that happens in “the most haunted place in Texas” and let the owner know. For proof of ghosts, she is willing to pay him six figures at a minimum. He knows how badly he needs that money to provide security and a new life for his girls. The last caretakers didn’t last very long, but Eric knows some things that they didn’t and he’s not going in unprepared.

I feel like I’ve been waiting for this book my whole life. I love ghost stories but I haven’t read a good one in a really long time. This was exactly what I was looking for. I haven’t been this scared since watching The Haunting of Hill House. Brilliantly written and expertly told, I highly recommend this to any fellow ghost story lovers.
