I have a soft spot for cookbooks that promise balance instead of theater.
The Swedish Cookbook appeals to me for that reason alone. The whole lagom idea, food that is measured, bright, and grounded, feels a lot closer to how I actually want to cook on an ordinary night than anything showy or overbuilt.
If a cookbook can make everyday meals feel calmer without making them dull, I am interested. This one sounds like it understands that line.
